Magma People reveals results of European Executive Opinion Survey.

LONDON: JUNE 13th, 2013 – Today, Magma People publishes its 2013 European Automotive Executive Opinion Survey, the results of which were unveiled last night in Paris in conjunction with the Automotive News Europe Rising Stars Awards. The survey was conducted between May 15th and June 4th 2013 by polling 105 European automotive executives, representing 56 different companies, including vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 supplier and automotive services companies, and the full spectrum of disciplines from design & product development, through purchasing, finance, HR & IT, to Sales, Marketing & Service.

All those who took part in the survey are members of an elite club of future industry leaders, having been winners or finalists in the Automotive News Rising Stars Awards over the last three years. The Rising Stars is a unique programme designed to recognise the leaders of tomorrow – the people who will shape and drive the European automotive industry in the future – and the companies who are nurturing that talent.

The executives were invited to complete an anonymous on-line survey, conducted using Adobe FormCentral and, with questions ranging from “State of the Industry” to “Career Prospects” and “Leadership Development”, the opinions of this high-calibre, high-potential cross-section of the industry not only make interesting reading but also provide some timely perspectives on the future of the European industry and the increasing importance of clear, differentiated strategy, combined with strong, effective leadership.

Commenting on the results of the survey, Magma People Chief Executive Chris Donkin said, “Increasingly, tomorrow’s industry leaders are looking for broader learning and experience to equip them for the challenges of the future. This includes greater international exposure, cross-functional rotation within the business and, most highly rated of all, selective experience outside the automotive sector in order to give them exposure to new thinking and fresh insights from other industries.”
